The Youth's Attempt, Edited by Industry, Perseverance, and Company, 1858.

Handwritten poetry from Detroit (Mich.), dated April 8, 1858, designed to contribute an offering to the patrons of the 9th Ward Public School. Perhaps it was a speech given for a special school program. There were multiple authors of individual papers, perhaps the poems of an entire class. The poems were gathered into a volume in scrapbook fashion by McCarn.
